Ernest Pollard was born in Salford, Lancashire. He served during the Great War with the 1/7th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers in the Gallipoli theatre of war from 5 May 1915. Pollard died of wounds serving in Gallipoli, 20 June 1915, and is buried in the East Mudros Military Cemetery.

Ernest Angelo Montagnon was born in Hampstead, Middlesex. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment in the French theatre of war from 31 May 1915. Montagnon died of wounds on the Western Front, 18 July 1916. On the latter date the Battalion were serving as part of the 22nd Brigade, 7th Division on the Somme, and four days earlier had been engaged in an attack on Bazentin-le-Petit.

Private Montagnon is buried in Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L’Abbe, Somme, France.
