Pair: Sergeant Wheeler C. Gadd, Royal Horse Artillery

Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (..eeler C. Gadd. R.H.A.) contemporarily engraved naming, unofficial rivets between all clasps and with top retaining rod; Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed as issued, pierced with ring suspension, contact marks, nearly very fine (2) £300-400

Charles Gadd was born in Elworth, Somerset, in 1826, and attested for the Royal Artillery at Taunton, Somerset, on 2 January 1847. He served with the Royal Horse Artillery in the Crimea, and was promoted Corporal Wheeler on 14 August 1860, and Sergeant Wheeler on 21 April 1863. He was discharged on 20 April 1869, after 22 years and 105 days’ service.
