Only six medals are known to have been issued to the Royal Navy with the date ‘1860’, all of which should have been dated ‘1860 to 1861’.

Born Aldeborough, Suffolk on 14 January 1836. He only served part of a Commission in the service, joining H.M.S. IRIS on 26 March 1860 as an Able Seaman, proving that he was a prime seaman from the merchant fleet, and discharged to shore on 3 August 1861.
