Albert Edward Hales, born Wolverhampton, served with the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers. He died at sea when the troopship Royal Edward was torpedoed by the U-15, while en route between Alexandria and Lemnos on 13 August 1915, with the loss of some 1,000 lives.
