An HEIC Infantry officer’s sword, an 1827 pattern rifle regiment sword of the 4th Bombay Rifles, the slightly curved 82cm pipe-backed blade, by Bodley & Etty, 31 Lombard Street, London, etched with crowned VR cypher, strung bugle, ‘4th Bombay Rifles’ and within ribbons the battle honours ‘Seringapatam’ and ‘Beni-Boo-Ali’ regulation steel guard incorporating strung bugle, polished wood grip bound with copper wire, contained in a wood leather covered scabbard, grip chipped and service wear overall, the scabbard probably a working life replacement £200-250
