France, Automobile-Club de Cannes, 1927, an Art Deco silver award plaque by A. Augis, standing female figure, arms outstretched, holding wreaths over a backdrop of the town, club badge enamelled in blue and white to left, period landaulette to right, reverse legend, 74 x 50mm (cf. Independent Order of Rechabites, c.1850, a white metal medal by J. Taylor, arms and supporters, reverse two indoor scenes; above, the orderly household seated and relaxed; below, the drunken father, crying mother and child, lives ruined by drink, O THAT MEN WERE WISE, THAT THEY DID CONSIDER, 49mm (BHM –). Practically as struck and set in a glazed and ornamented mount, with clip and ring for suspension; an attractive souvenir of the Temperance movement (£40-60)
