Scotland, BalFron (Lanarkshire), Ballindalloch Cotton Works, a 5 Shilling check, 24 March 1830, serial number A134, reverse no. 26, Matthew Finlayson signature, beehive vignette at upper centre (Hodge Safety in Numbers, Table 1, 1.3, this item; PMS PR 30). Four tiny spindle holes at left, annotations on reverse, otherwise fine, and very rare, being one of eight specimens noted by the vendor £300-£400
