Dugald McLachlan is listed in local directories as a wine and spirit dealer at various addresses in Tobermory in the 1820s.

McLachlan, a MEXICO, Charles IIII, 8 Reales, 1794fm, Mexico City, obv. countermarked dugd. mclachlan mercht + tobermory + around 5/, 26.73g/12h (Manville 99; Hodge 099S-001a, this coin; KM. CC102). Coin and countermark fine, latter a little weakly struck, excessively rare, the only example available to commerce £2,000-£3,000
