F.S. Cokayne Collection, Glendining Auction, 17-18 July 1946, lot 156; J. Vico Auction (Spain), 10 November 2005, lot 2354; Cayón Auction (Madrid), 11 December 2008, lot 3427.
64 known with 27 in institutions. Only four cancelled examples known.
Though the Cokayne catalogue showed no illustration, the description of ‘Thistle Bank around 4/9 on obverse but it has been obliterated with a chequer pattern, rev. a thistle in a circle, on a Mexico Dollar, 1799’ would indicate a likelihood that the Cayón example is the same coin.
