The Glasgow Bank Company was founded in 1809 by the London banking-house of Ransom, Morland & Co. of Pall Mall. It was situated in Ingram Street and in 1836 was merged with the Ship Bank.

Scotland, GLASGOW (Lanarkshire), Glasgow Bank, a MEXICO, Ferdinand VII, 8 Reales, 1810hj, Mexico City, imaginary bust, obv. countermarked glasgow bank · around 5/:, 26.34g/12h (cf. Manville 38; Hodge X038S.008b, this coin; KM. CC44). Nearly very fine, a few marks, countermark better and contemporary, very rare £600-£800
