Create new listBallindalloch was acquired in 1800 by James Finlay & Co,, Glasgow merchants, who also operated mills at Catrine and Deanston. Judging from the dates of the dollar host coins and the valuation stamped, all of the Ballindalloch silver tokens were probably issued between about 1800 and 1810 [Manville p.17]

CC7). Light scratches on reverse, coin nearly very fine, countermark better, very rare £3,000-£4,000

Since his name appears in numerous provenances in the collection, the vendor has kindly supplied the following details. Albin Pearce was a collector (mostly of countermarked dollars) from Bolton, Lancashire. Most of his collection was obtained through Brian Dawson the well known Bolton dealer. When he wanted to sell, Brian put him in touch with Harry Manville who bought the whole collection - with some coins then passing to the current vendor and two fellow collectors.
