Place BidEarly Anglo-Saxon Period, Merovingian, Tremissis, c. 600-700, Quentovic, struck by the moneyer Dutta, diademed bust right, +vvicco, rev. cross-on-steps, dvtta moni, 1.27g/12h (Grantley 568 = Sutherland Crondall pl. V, p, same dies; Belfort 4960; Prou 1125). Well centred, extremely fine and with superb surfaces; very rare being struck from the same dies as the specimen from the celebrated Crondall Hoard £1,500-£2,000
