This coin has no recorded findspot and is thus of uncertain origin, however the reverse bears much resemblance to the Baker’s Boar type sold by Rudd [Auction 175, 15 February 2021, lot 20] and other coinages of the Iceni and Corieltavi, such as ABC 1621-1624 and ABC 1794-1800.
It is uncertain as to whether or not this coin is genuine due to the lack of provenance, however the metallurgical content is consistent with early Iron Age silver coins and is as follows: Ag 95.48%, Cu 1.40%, Au 0.550%, Pb 0.82%, Bi 0.143% and Fe 1.20%.
