Charles I (1625-1649), Carlisle, Shilling, 1645, type I, c : r crowned flanked by trefoils of pellets, value below, rev. obs carl and date, rosette above and below, 5.15g/1h (Hird 244 and SCBI Brooker 1220, same dies; N 2635; S 3138). Weak to right of crown (and corresponding on reverse), otherwise good fine, toned, very rare £6,000-£8,000
