The 26th (Jacob’s) Mountain Battery served as part of the 7th (Indian) Mountain Artillery Brigade, and landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 and was the last artillery unit to leave in December 1915. After a period of refit, they were posted to the Mesopotamia theatre of war, landing at Basra on 8 March 1916.
