Carmarthenshire Rifle Volunteers Insignia, comprising a fine and rare shako plate of the 1st Llandilo Company being an eight pointed star with mounted crown over leek sprays enclosing a circular strap ‘Fy Nhywysoga Fy Ngwlad’, in the centre the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto, two loop fasteners; a die stamped bronze pouch belt plate to the 2nd Carmarthen Company featuring a shield bearing the town arms and scroll below ‘Rhydd Did Hedd A Llwyddiant’, three screw post fasteners; a shako badge of the 6th Carmarthen Company in die stamped bronze featuring the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto/6/Carmarthenshire, two wire fasteners out of four remaining; together with an unidentified shako plate in die stamped bronze being crowned laurels enclosing the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto, two loop fasteners, two minor fractures to the scroll on the second item otherwise good overall condition (4) £250-350
