Samuel Harrod was born in the Parish of St Pauls, Exeter, Devon, and enlisted into the 28th Foot at Fermoy, County Cork, on 14 July 1804, from the Militia, aged 23, a cordwainer by trade. He was discharged on 27 July 1819, in consequence of a ‘Reduction in the Establishment of the Regiment.’ Sold with copied discharge papers.
