Born in January 1921, Christie was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in December 1944, and was mentioned in despatches ‘For distinguished service in Malaya’ in the London Gazette of 26 April 1949. Advanced to substantive Flight Lieutenant in April 1955, he resigned his commission in July 1968.
