Wyon, crowned bust of Queen Alexandra left, rev. flowering wreath, 51mm; together with Charles, A.O., The Story of the Little Boys, London, nd, 120pp, engraved illustrations in text including one of the earlier medal [3]. Medals as struck and in original maroon cases of issue, book with one or two loose pages, an interesting group (£50-70)

Charles makes it clear (pp.91-2) that the medals were awarded to ‘Old Boys’ on the first anniversary of their leaving the Home; the medals commemorate the services of Robert Culling Hanbury (1823-67), the first president of the Home
