Commonwealth of Australia, watermarked papers for an intended issue of £1 and £5 of 1936, featuring a portrait of King Edward VIII, who abdicated in the same year, glued into cream paper frames, ink annotations on frame and paper, as produced, extremely rare, and the only trace of this fabled Edward VIII issue that is likely to ever be obtainable by collectors (2 papers)
BNB B129, the £5 not listed, Pick not listed £200-£260

These items are directly from the Portals Paper Archive

These watermarked papers represent the only publicly obtainable trace of the intended issue of 1936, as all other proofs and specimens are held by institutions. While a £1 is known to have been planned and printed, the cataloguer has not been able to find any trace of a £5 at all.
