A rare Great War M.S.M. group of eight awarded to Flight Lieutenant T. H. Moore, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, late Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force

British War and Victory Medals
(16262 Sgt., R.A.F.); 1939-45 Star; Defence and War Medals, M.I.D. oak leaf; Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R., 1st issue (16262 Cpl., R.F.C.); Air Efficiency Award, G.VI.R., 1st issue (Fg. Off., R.A.F.V.R.); French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, mounted as worn, minor official correction to surname on the M.S.M., one or two edge bruises but generally good very fine (8) £700-900

Morre enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in December 1915 and went to France as a motor transport driver, gaining advancement to Corporal in November 1916. Awarded his rare Army-type M.S.M. ‘For valuable services rendered with the Armies in the Field’ (London Gazette 4 June 1917 refers), he was re-mustered as a Corporal Mechanic in the Royal Air Force in April 1918. Mentioned in despatches after being commissioned into the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in the 1939-45 War (London Gazette 1 January 1945 refers), Moore was awarded his Air Efficiency Award in November 1949, by which time he had attained the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
