25th (The King’s Own Borderers) Regiment, a scarce silver coloured metal piper’s plaid brooch, the large slightly convex quoit engraved with very stylised thistle heads celtic crosses and floral scrollwork, at the base a circular strap engraved ‘K O B’ and in the centre ‘XXV’; the reverse with Georgian period engraving ‘2nd’ over ‘8’ and elsewhere ‘4’, a stout period iron pin soldered to reverse, c1810-40, considerable surface wear otherwise good condition for age £250-350
