Samuel Nicholas Tippett was born in Giverton, Cornwall and living in Praze, enlisted at Cambourne. Serving initially with the Royal Artillery, he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers and was killed in action on 17 October 1918, aged 21 years. He was buried in the Highland Cemetery, Le Cateau.
