The Leicestershire Regiment, an officer’s 1878 pattern home service blue cloth helmet, complete with all fittings and bearing the gilt and silver post 1902 helmet plate, this with green velvet centre backing indicating a TF battalion, retailed by H Rogers 5 London Road Leicester, the skull ‘soft’ on the rear peak the cloth dirty but in good condition, the spike and quadrant devoid of gilt the remaining fittings retaining some gilt under the surface grime, the front pewak trim with some buckling,the chin chain leather/velvet lining partly detached, sound internally the plate original to the helmet, marked to ‘Lt Jarvis/1909’ £250-300
