Three: Private W. Owen, Shropshire Light Infantry

William Owen was born in Coalport, Shropshire. By occupation, a labourer in a tile factory, he enlisted into the Army in 1906, aged 20 years. He served in India from 16 February 1907 to19 March 1913, with the B.E.F. in France and Flanders from 9 September 1914 to1 July 1915, with the Salonika Expeditionary Force in Macedonia from 7 November 1916 to 15 December 1918 and in South Russia from 16 December 1918 to 16 April 1919. He was transferred to Class ‘Z’ Army Reserve on demobilization on 15 May 1919. Sold with a quantity of copied service papers.
