Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill (3739 Pte., 6/Drgn. Gds.); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps (3739 Pte., 6th Drgn. Gds.) slight edge bruising and contact marks, very fine (2), £160-200

Thomas Henry Hicks was born in Bethnal Green, London and enlisted into the Corps of Dragoons in April 1897, aged 18 years 8 months, being posted to the 6th Dragoon Gaurds. Serving with the regiment in the Boer War he was posted missing in action in the vicinity of Pretoria on 10 August 1900 but later rejoined his unit. He was transferred to the Reserve in November 1904. Sold with copied service papers and confirmation of clasps.
