William Montalk Roberts attested for the Cape Mounted Rifles at King William’s Town on 30 June 1897, aged 20. He was discharged at his own request, time expired, on 31 July 1902.

Sold with copied medal roll extract and Regimental Defaulters Book extract, which contains an entry about him being charged for being absent from his post during the Siege of Wepener, 9-25 April 1900.
