Frank Poole, a native of the Rhondda, attested for the Gloucestershire Regiment and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 1 January 1915. Transferring to the 8th Battalion, he was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme on 23 July 1916. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

Sidney Steele attested for the Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War from 21 September 1915. He died of wounds on 9 May 1917 and is buried in the Sarigol Military Cemetery, Kriston, Greece.

Walter John Maiden attested for the Northamptonshire Regiment and served with them during the Great War in the Balkans Theatre of war from 24 October 1915. He was discharged to the Class Z Reserve on 1 June 1919, and died on 24 August 1919. He is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey.

John Grayson, a native of Heeley, Sheffield, attested for the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 20 November 1917 during the Battle of Cambrai; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, France.
