Celtic, a bronze Cauldron or Bucket Mount, early 1st cent. AD, 22.4cm long by 9.5cm wide, curved rectangular section handle with looped attachment at each end (one detached), solid pedestal decorated with a cross and dotted punches on all four sides, looped at one end is a stylised ram’s head with backward curving horns (one damaged), extended nose and slit mouth, with dotted punch decoration in panels, underneath is a flattened panel with two rivet holes for fixing to the inside of the cauldron’s rim. Good condition £300-£360

Iron Age buckets were used in sacrificial or religious ceremonies. The goat is symbolic of spiritual ambition and independence and was commonly offered in sacrifice
