Romano-British, a bronze folding Knife Handle, 2nd cent. AD, 67mm long by 33mm high, solid pedestal base with extended rectangular curving handle ending in a stylised horse’s head, deep slot behind for the iron blade of which traces remain, rectangular opening by base for suspension. Very fine with a green patina £300-£360
In the Roman period folding knives were commonly used as razors or as penknives
