Harry Caswill Coleman was born at Barnsley, Yorkshire on 15 May 1895, and commenced his naval service as a Boy 2nd Class on 17 February 1912. His Great War medals were issued to him for service at H.M.S. Vivid along with his war service gratuity. He received his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 1 July 1928.
