Charles I (1625-1649), Pattern Shilling, 1635, by N. Briot, signed b on rev., crowned bust left in armour with collar and mantle, rev. square topped shield, crown and date above, crowned cr at sides, 5.86g/6h (SCBI Brooker 1252, same dies; N 2677). Some hairline scratches, a dig to left of shield and very slightly crimped, otherwise nearly very fine and extremely rare (£700-900)
