George III (1760-1820), Pattern or Trial Shilling, 1787, in silver, by L. Pingo, stop above head and at date, with semée of hearts, 7 harp strings, edge diagonally grained, raised rims, 26mm, 5.98g/12h (cf. ESC 2172 [1241]; cf. S 3746). Struck on a larger than normal flan, leaving a distinct margin between legend and rim, good very fine, extremely rare £400-£500
Manville (BNJ 2004) does not refer to pieces on unusually large flans
