Bank of England, Cyril P. Mahon, Parchment Pair of 10 Shilling and £1, 22 November 1928, with matching serial numbers A01 000095, complete with vellum envelope and original plastic slip-cases, both with the usual handling marks, the 10 Shilling with small stain, about uncirculated, the £1 with some creasing to right edge due to original slipcase contracting in size over the years, good extremely fine, a very rare
EPM B214 £5,000-£6,000

This pair comes with a note reading “22 Nov 1928. Presented to R. Cyzse by the Governor of the Bank of England, Mr Montague C. Norman on the day the Bank of England issued the £1 and £-10/- notes.” R. Cyzse worked for one of the banks in Iran, and appears to have been presented with this set as a result.
