A.L.S. by James W. Morrison, Deputy Master of the Royal Mint and three employees of the Royal Mint, Inigo (?) Barton, Robert Bingley and Thomas P. Coverdaile (?), to J.C. Herries, Master of the Royal Mint, date-lined "Mint Office 25th Nov. 1829.” Explains the circumstances which had given rise to a claim by the financier, Nathan Meyer Rothschild, that he had been underpaid for gold bullion supplied by him to the Royal Mint and their argument for the rebuttal of it; accompanied by an account detailing the amount of bullion supplied by Rothschild between 5 March and 17 November 1829. 22 x 32.3cm (double) and 20 x 32.2cm (double) [2]. Both with several folds, first with one small tear, otherwise clean (£300-400)
