Letter to Thomas Wallace, Master of His Majesty's Mint from Messrs. C. Watt & Co, date-lined: "Jamaica Coffee House, Corn Hill. 12 Feb.1829.” Offers a newly discovered method of purifying silver. "We will undertake to purify in the course of a few hours, a quantity of silver, which according to the usual process, requires many days.” Addressed in error to Herries’ predecessor. Ink annotation on the back page, in the hand of J.C. Herries, dated 14 Feb. 1829, recording that he had agreed to an interview. 18.6 x 23cm (double). Several folds, clean (£50-80)
