General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Canal Zone (2Lt L A Ryan RASC) in named card box of issue, extremely fine £160-£200

Leo Austin Ryan was born in Newport in 1931 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps on 14 April 1951. He was promoted Lieutenant on 2 June 1954, serving with the Monmouthshire Regiment, and then transferred to the South Wales Borderers on 13 October 1955. In civilian life he worked for a Birmingham based British manufacturer of motor industry and aerospace industry components Lucas Industries, and died in Bridgend in 2003.

Sold with the recipient’s Passport, and a certificate for 25 Years’ Service with Lucas Industries, dated 1977, in presentation folder.
