Richard III (1483-1485), Groat, London, type 2b, mm. boar’s head (no.1) over halved sun and rose (no.1) on obv., boar’s head (no.2) on rev., nothing below bust, 3.12g/4h (Stewartby p.434, IIa/IIb; Winstanley 5; N 1679; S 2156). Some weakness to left of bust and an associated scratch (and corresponding on reverse), otherwise very fine, dark tone £1,500-£1,800
