An interesting photograph album compiled by Warrant Officer Class II E. C. Bishop, King’s Regiment, containing approximately 200 photographs, some of which are annotated, all taken when the recipient was stationed at Landi Kotal, the garrison settlement at the Khyber Pass, during the period 1938-39; together with the recipient’s named Buckingham Palace Bestowal Document for the 1953 Coronation Medal; his Second Class Army Certificate of Education; and two Small Arms School Certificates, 320mm x 240mm, all bound within board covers, the covers somewhat distressed, but the photographs by and large all intact, therefore reasonable condition £60-£80

E. C. Bishop ‘joined the King’s Regiment at the Regimental Depot in Seaforth in January 1936 where he completed his training and was posted to the 2nd Battalion in the U.K. until September 1937. He was then posted to the 1st Battalion in India with whom he served throughout the War years until March 1944, except for a short period as an instructor at the Officers’ Training School at Belgaum. He then returned to the U.K. as a Company Sergeant Major at the Training Centre at Formby.
Company Sergeant Major Bishop returned to the 2nd Battalion in September 1948 just prior to its amalgamation with the 1st Battalion, with whom he has been serving since in Korea, Hong Kong, the U.K., and with the British Army of the Rhine. He has 21 years’ service and is the senior Company Sergeant Major in the Battalion.’ (address given on the presentation of the recipient’s Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, presented by Lieutenant-Colonel D. G. T. Horsford at Belfast Barracks, Osnabruck, on 9 March 1957, refers).
