John Turner attested for the Hampshire Regiment (Territorial Force) on 5 April 1909, and served with the 1st/5th Battalion during the Great War in India. He was discharged on 23 October 1915, and was entitled to a Silver War Badge. He was not entitled to either the 1914-15 Star or the Victory Medal.
