Charles Henry Whitehead enlisted into the Royal West Kent Regiment at Maidstone on 7 October 1915, and served with the Indian Expeditionary Force in Mesopotamia from 16 February 1916 (British War and Victory Medals). He afterwards served in India from 6 May to 21 September 1919, before returning to the U.K., where he was discharged on 27 November 1919. Sold with copied discharge papers, medal roll entry and war diary of the regiment’s proceedings in Afghanistan.
