A Grenadier Company Officer’s Sword Early 19th Century, a fine quality example, the 83cm curved bright blade by Dawes Birmingham, single full length broad fuller. Frost etched both side including the Royal Arms, crowned ‘GR’ cypher, the standing figure of Britannia and similar Proserpina, floral swags and trophies of arms. The spine gilt edged ’Thomas Beck’. Gilt brass cross piece incorporating a fused grenade, ‘D’ shaped hilt, lion’s and mane pommel, black leather on wood wire bound hand grip; together with its brass metal scabbard, good condition, the blade very fine £900-£1,200
