Gidley, Nigeria Police.); Coronation 1953; Nigeria Independence Medal 1960; Nigeria Police Force Meritorious Service Medal, unnamed, mounted as originally worn, with the exception of last which is secured to riband by pin, with a Royal Visit to Nigeria 1956 medal and a medal commemorating the Self Government of the Northern Region of Nigeria 1959, generally very fine

Courtenay Giles Bartholomew Gidley served as Commissioner of Police in Nigeria.

J. B. Gidley served during the Great War with the 8th (Service) Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment in the French theatre of war, and was wounded in action during the 1st week of the Battle of the Somme, July 1916.
