Afghanistan 1878-80, 1 clasp, Charasia (1614 Pte. Jas. M’Pherson. 72nd Highrs.) edge bruising and brooch marks to obverse, otherwise very fine £400-£500

Piper James Macpherson was killed in action at the battle of Charasia on 6 October 1879, having received a bullet wound in the thigh. Sold with muster details and London Gazette casualty list which confirms him as a Piper.
