Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 2 clasps, The Nile 1884-85, Abu Klea (4213 Pte. H. W. Hobbs, K.R. Rif. C.) officially re-engraved naming, extremely fine and rare £300-350

H. W. Hobbs served with the 1st Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps in the Nile Expedition. This Battalion furnished 26 men of the Mounted Infantry section of the Camel Corps, of whom 13 were present at Abu Klea. The unfortunate Hobbs was fatally wounded in this action and was buried at El Howieyat Wells.
