3-7322 Private William Wright was born in Ardwick, Lancashire, the son of 5354 Sergeant William Wright, and attested for the East Yorkshire Regiment at Sheffield, Yorkshire. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 5 July 1915. He is buried in White House Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium.
