William Thompson attested for the Durham Light Infantry on 20 October 1914 and served with the 8th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 July 1915. He was discharged on 23 May 1917, and received a Silver War Badge.
Robert Hutton was born in Durham and attested for the Durham Light Infantry at Gateshead. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 17 August 1915, and was killed in action on 2 June 1916. He is buried in Essex Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
