Gentleman at Arms Full Dress Helmet, an extremely fine example, the gilt metal skull virtually covered in gilt metal overlays, the frontal plate of crowned rococo pattern overlaid with a diamond cut silver star and thereon a gilt metal oval bearing the Royal Arms and Garter motto, massive lion’s mask side ornaments, the chin scales of graded four petal leaf pattern culminating in gilt metal lion’s paws, hinged but non-opening sewn on to a velvet lined leather chin scale strap, stout leather lining and internal buckled strap, leather lined front and rear peaks, complete with its very fine 50 cm white swan feather plume, some dents around both lion’s mask side ornaments otherwise in very fine condition £2000-3000
