William White, aged 13, was awarded the R.H.S. bronze life-saving medal on 15 August, 1885, for successfully saving life at Sheerness. “During the bathing season, William White, aged, 13, saved the lives of two other boys of similar age within minutes of each other, at Sheerness, Kent.” (Case No. 22888 refers).
