Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Corpl. J. Stanton. 20th Regt.) officially impressed naming, rank over-stamped; Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed, fitted with Indian Mutiny suspension, the claw crudely soldered, the first with contact marks, good fine or better (2) £180-220

As a Sergeant Stanton served in the Indian Mutiny at the capture of Lucknow. He was killed by the accidental falling of a barrack at Gorruckpore on 21 May 1862.
